Indian Gems

Indian Gems is based out of Boranada, specifically at Bambore Darjiyan Stpi Sez, plot 23. This is out in the industrial area where things are a bit spread out. It’s a dry and dusty place, typical for this part of the region. We work inside the SEZ, so there are some gates and security you have to pass. The building is a plain industrial unit. Inside, we handle all sorts of gems. It’s not a glamorous job like people think. There is a lot of sorting and looking at small details for hours. We don’t have a fancy storefront because we aren't selling to people walking by on the street. It’s mostly export and wholesale work that goes on here. The sun hits the building hard in the afternoon, so we keep the shutters down to stay cool. We’ve got a small team and we all know each other well. Most of us have been working with stones for a long time. It’s a lot of sitting at benches with lamps. We don’t use any big fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at the stones, sort them, and get them ready. It’s a steady kind of life out here in Boranada. We like the quiet of the SEZ compared to the middle of the city. It’s just a place where work gets done. There are no distractions out here, just the stones.
