Govindlal Amritlal Departmental Store

Govindlal Amritlal Departmental Store is out in Basni, Jodhpur. We are located right in the Krishi Upaj Mandi area, so it’s a very busy place with lots of trucks coming and going all day long. Being near the Mandi means there is always a lot of dust and noise, but that’s just how it is here. Our store is a bit larger than your average corner shop because we handle more bulk items. We have large bags of spices, big tins of oil, and plenty of household goods. The Jodhpur heat is really something, so we spend a lot of time just trying to keep the place cool enough to work in. We’ve been around for quite a few years and have built up a lot of regulars from among the workers and traders in the area. It’s a family-run business and we don't really have a big staff. Usually, it’s just me and my cousin managing the counter and the warehouse space. We don't bother with fancy displays or much lighting. People know what they want and where to find it on our shelves. Sometimes we get really busy and there’s a bit of a wait, but nobody seems to mind much. We just provide the basic stuff people need for their homes and businesses in this part of Jodhpur. It’s hard work, but we like being part of the Mandi community and seeing the daily trade happen right outside our door.
