You can find us over at Siwanchi Gate in Jodhpur. If you stand right in front of the church, you will see the sign for Gordhan Ramswaroop And Co. It is an old family name that has been passed down, and we just keep the business going as best as we can. The building itself has seen many years and many different seasons. We handle various kinds of goods, mostly whatever the people in this specific part of the city are looking for at the time. Jodhpur gets incredibly hot during the summer months, so we try to keep the shop as cool as possible for anyone who stops in. It definitely isn't a modern office or one of those shiny new mall stores. There are old ledgers on the desk and piles of stock waiting to be sorted. Most of our day is spent talking to the customers or double-checking our lists to see what needs to be ordered for next week. Some families have been coming to us since the current owners were just kids. It’s funny how fast time moves when you're busy. We don't have a website or any of those modern things. Just the physical shop and the boards outside. Sometimes the traffic noise near the gate is quite loud, but inside we just focus on the work. We open the doors early and stay until the sun starts to set. It's just a simple way to live.
