Ganga Provision And General Store

Our shop, Ganga Provision And General Store, is located at 57 Sangarita Main Road in the Kudi Bhagtasani area of Jodhpur. It’s a straightforward place where we keep all the essential household supplies. We have big sacks of flour and rice stacked near the entrance. Most of our day is spent measuring out items and chatting with the people from the neighborhood. It’s not a fancy store with air conditioning or bright lights. We just have a few fans and some simple wooden shelves. My family has been doing this for a long time. We know which brand of cooking oil the neighbors prefer and who likes which type of tea. Jodhpur can be quite dusty, so we have to wipe down the jars and packets every morning before we start. Sometimes the kids from the nearby houses come in just for a single piece of candy. We don't mind. It’s a community feel here. We don't have a computer to keep our accounts, so we just write everything down in a thick ledger book. It’s worked for us so far. We just want to keep serving the people on Sangarita Main Road as best as we can. There are no big goals, just everyday work.
