Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat

The office is tucked away inside Kuchaman Haweli, which is a very old and recognizable building near Merti Gate in Jodhpur. If you’ve spent any time in this part of the city, you know how tight the streets can be around Merti Gate. It has that old Jodhpur feel to it, with the narrow lanes and the history literally built into the walls. Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat operates out of this space. It’s not like those modern clinics you see in the newer parts of town. This place has thick walls and a lot of character. We deal with the heat like everyone else does, and when the sun hits the stones in the afternoon, it stays warm for a long time. There is a lot of activity right outside the Haweli with vendors and people coming in and out of the gate. It’s a bit of a walk to get here if you park further away, but most locals are used to that. Inside, it’s quiet enough to focus. We have the basic equipment we need and a place for people to wait. It’s a humble setup, really. We spend most of our time here just talking to whoever comes through the door. It feels more like a part of the neighborhood than a sterile professional office. We’ve been here long enough that the building feels like home now. The stone floors stay cool in the morning, which is always nice before the afternoon rush starts.
