Dadhimati General Store

Dadhimati General Store is located in the Mahamandir area of Jodhpur, right opposite the Matki Circle. If you know the circle, you won’t have a hard time finding us. It’s a busy spot with lots of vehicles moving around all day. The shop is quite small, but we try to fit as much as possible onto the shelves. We carry the usual things like grains, spices, and cleaning supplies that local families need. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular shop for regular people. The floor is a bit uneven and the paint on the walls has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. I usually open up the shutters around eight in the morning. Being across from Matki Circle means there is always something to watch while waiting for customers. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely during the quiet afternoon hours when the sun is high. We don't have a computer for billing or anything like that; we just use a notebook and a pen. It’s a very local operation. We know the people from the surrounding houses by name. We don't try to compete with the big supermarkets in the city. We just provide a convenient place for the neighbors to grab what they need on their way home. It’s been this way for a long time now, and we’re happy to keep it going as long as we can.
