Our workshop is tucked away in Gulistan Colony, near the Bhadu Market on Pal Road. If you walk toward Talab Bagh, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. There’s almost always the sound of hammers hitting iron or the grind of a machine. We make all sorts of iron handicrafts right here. It’s a hot and dirty job, especially in the summer, but we’re used to it. The floor is covered in metal scraps and dust, and there’s always a smell of burnt metal in the air. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Most of our stuff is just sitting on benches or leaned against the walls until it’s finished. We’re just local people making things with our hands. Sometimes a piece doesn't come out quite right and we have to start over. That’s just how it goes with iron. People from the colony come by to watch us work sometimes. We aren't looking to become a giant factory; we like being here in the market area where we can see what’s happening. It’s hard on the back and the hands, but there’s something good about seeing a raw piece of iron turn into something useful. We don't use any slick sales talk. If you like what we made, you can take it. If not, that’s okay too. We just keep hammering away.
