Banshidhar Phoolchand

Our place, Banshidhar Phoolchand, is located over at Kabristan 1st C Road. It is an older part of the city and the streets are quite narrow. We have been operating from here for a long time, and the building shows its age, but it works for us. We handle a variety of general goods and supplies that the local community needs. Every morning starts with opening the heavy shutters and sweeping the front step. The air smells a bit like old paper and whatever goods we have in stock that week. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we still use hand-written books for our accounts. It might seem slow to some people, but it’s the way we have always done it and it keeps things simple. The 1st C Road area is always buzzing with people going to work or running errands. We see the same faces every day, which is the nice part about being a local business. Sometimes we sit on the wooden benches outside and just watch the world go by when things are quiet. There isn't any fancy marketing here, just a board with our name on it. We provide what we have and try to be fair with everyone who stops by. It’s a modest setup, focusing on the day-to-day needs of the people living around the Kabristan area. We just keep our heads down and do our work.
