I’ve been doing photography here in Balesar Satta for quite some time. Sanjay Photography is basically just me and a few cameras. Most of my days are spent either out at a site or sitting in front of a computer trying to get the colors right on a screen. Balesar Satta is a small enough place that everyone kind of knows what’s going on. When there’s a wedding or a local event, things get really hectic. I have to make sure my batteries are charged and my memory cards are empty the night before. It’s a lot of standing around waiting for the right moment, then clicking away. Then comes the long hours of looking at hundreds of photos. My eyes get tired, but that’s just how it is. The shop itself is simple. I have some prints on the wall and a place for people to sit when they come to collect their photos. Sometimes people are in a hurry, and other times they want to chat about their family. I don't use fancy lighting unless I really have to; I prefer just using what’s there. It’s a simple life. I like capturing how things actually look without adding too much extra stuff. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks through the door or calls me up for a shoot. Sometimes the camera feels heavy after ten hours, but then I see a good shot and forget about it.
