Balaji Traders

Our place, Balaji Traders, is in Ward No-30 over in Gandhi Puram. We are situated near Hanuman Colony, which is a fairly quiet part of the area compared to the main market. We deal in general trading, so our warehouse space is usually filled with all sorts of different items depending on what people are buying. It’s a simple building with a large front door for loading and unloading. I spend a lot of my day checking the stock and talking to the delivery guys who bring the goods. We have a small office corner with a wooden desk and a couple of chairs for visitors. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it does the job. My nephew helps me with the heavy lifting and keeping track of what’s coming in and going out. We don’t really do any big promotions or anything like that. People in the neighborhood know we are here, and word of mouth usually brings in anyone else. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket in the street outside, and we have to be careful when moving the truck. It’s a decent life, keeping the business running and being part of the Gandhi Puram community. We’ve been here in Ward No-30 for quite some time now. We just try to keep things moving and stay organized, even when the boxes start stacking up too high in the back. It's just a regular trade shop where we work every day.
