About Arihant Art Emporium – Art & Craft in Jodhpur
The warehouse at H-416 (A&B) in the E.P.I.P Boranada industrial area is a pretty massive space. Arihant Art Emporium is basically a giant hall filled with all sorts of items waiting to be sent away. Because we are out in Boranada, the wind carries a lot of desert sand, so we spend a good chunk of every morning just dusting off the inventory. There are usually several different projects going on at once—some people are polishing metal, while others are packing large wooden crates. It’s a noisy environment with the sound of grinders and the beep of the forklift moving through the aisles. The lights are high up in the rafters, so the corners of the building are always a bit dark. We don’t have a fancy showroom here; it’s more of a practical working space where the focus is on getting the physical work finished. The office is just a partitioned area in the front where we keep the files and the phone. It gets incredibly hot under the tin roof during the summer months, so we usually start early in the morning to beat the worst of the heat. We deal with a lot of different people, from truck drivers to the workers who live nearby. There is no corporate polish to the way we do things; it’s just about managing the daily grind and making sure the crates are loaded correctly.
