Purti Toys

We are situated in the Saree Market area of Sharma Nagar. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a toy shop since most of the neighbors sell fabric and clothes, but it works out okay for us. We are right near the Punjab National Bank, which is where most people park their scooters. The shop itself is tucked away a little bit, but once you find us, you’ll see we have quite a bit of stock crammed into the space. We spend a lot of our time unboxing new arrivals and trying to find a place for them on the shelves. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes. The lighting in the back isn't the best, so we use a desk lamp when we are looking for something specific. We don't really have a fancy website or anything; we just talk to the people who walk in. Most of our customers are moms who are already in the market shopping for sarees and realize they need a gift for their kids. We have a small radio that plays local stations all day, which helps keep things lively. Sometimes the bank queue gets so long it blocks our entrance, but we just wait it out. It is a very local kind of place where we know the names of the kids who come in to look at the window. We try to stay organized, but with so many small toys, it is a constant battle. We keep the door open most days.
