P.G College Safidon

Living and working in Safidon means being part of the Jind rhythm. Our college is right here in this corner of Haryana, and it stays quite busy with people coming in from the surrounding villages every morning. You see a lot of cycles and some motorbikes parked out front. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There’s always someone talking in the corridors or a teacher looking for a misplaced set of notes. The weather gets really sharp here, very hot in the summer and then that biting cold in the winter months. We just get on with it. The building has been here for some time and it shows its age in places, but it stays standing. Students mostly hang out near the entrance during their breaks or they walk down the road to get something to drink. We spend our afternoons grading papers or sitting in the office dealing with paperwork. It’s a lot of paperwork actually. Haryana is a place where people speak their mind, and it’s the same here. You hear voices echoing from the classrooms all day long. Sometimes we have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise of the ceiling fans. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. It's just a local college where people come to get their degrees and move on with their lives. Most of us have been here for years and we know the local shops and the bus timings by heart.
