Shivam Minerals

Shivam Minerals is situated right opposite the Telephone Exchange, which is a landmark most people in the area use to find us. We are also quite near Agrasen Chowk, so the traffic is almost always backed up with bikes and rickshaws during the rush hours. The yard stays pretty dusty because of the minerals we handle, so there is usually a layer of fine powder on the chairs and the windowsills. We try to keep it clean, but it is a losing battle most days. The office is just a small room where we keep the phone and the receipt books. We spend most of our time outside anyway, watching the loading and unloading of the bags. It gets loud when the big trucks try to turn near the chowk, and sometimes we have to go out and help guide them. The heat can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we take turns sitting under the big tree out front when things are slow. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the address and the name on the door. It is a straightforward operation. People come by, ask about the stock, and we help them out with whatever they need. We have been in this spot for a good while, and the people at the Telephone Exchange are used to seeing us around by now.
