Our main spot is in Bissau, right near the Saharan Hospital at Aguna Darwaja. Satish Construction has its roots deep in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. Working in this part of the country means you have to get used to the sand and the dry heat pretty quickly. Our office in Ward No. 11 is where we keep the tools and the heavy gear when it’s not out at a site somewhere else. We do a lot of the local building work around the village and the nearby tahasil. It’s mostly bricks, mortar, and manual labor. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a bunch of local guys who know how to build a wall that won't fall down. Sometimes we are working on a small house, and other times it is a bigger government contract for a local building or a boundary wall. We travel around the district quite a bit, so the trucks are always on the move on those dusty roads. Bissau is a quiet place for the most part, but our yard can get pretty noisy when we are loading up the mixers in the morning. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to do the billing or check a plan. Most of the day is spent on the ground, making sure the levels are right and the materials are being used properly. It’s hard work but it’s what we know best.
