Jiwani B Ed College

Jiwani B Ed College is located out on Khetri Road in Aduka, which is part of Chirawa in the Jhunjhunu area. We focus on training people to become teachers. It is a bit of a drive for some, but it’s quiet out here which helps for studying. The landscape around here is mostly dry, and we get a lot of sun. Our building is simple and doesn't have much decoration on the walls. We have several classrooms where we talk about teaching methods and education theories. Most of our students are from the local villages and nearby towns. They come here wanting to get their degree so they can work in schools later on. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and go over the lesson plans for the week. It’s not a fancy life. We deal with a lot of paperwork from the university and the government. Sometimes the internet is slow, and that makes things frustrating when we need to upload marks. But we get by. People in Chirawa know where we are. We've been here for a while now, and the routine stays pretty much the same. Morning lectures, some lunch time, and then afternoon sessions. It is practical work, really. We just want to make sure the students know their stuff before they go out to teach. There is a bus stop not too far away, which is how most people get here.
