Vedanta Aluminium Limited

Our office is located in Jharsuguda over at Seetal Colony, which is right near the Bombay Chowk area. This town is a major hub for the aluminum industry, so things stay pretty busy for us most of the time. It is a very practical location for what we need to do. The building itself is simple and there isn’t anything fancy to see from the street. Once you get inside, it’s mostly just us working through piles of papers and talking to the transport drivers. Jharsuguda can be a very dusty and noisy place because of all the industry nearby, and it gets incredibly hot during the summer. We usually have several fans running all day long just to stay comfortable. We handle the logistics and the administrative side of the metal business here. It involves a massive amount of coordination between the different plants and the guys moving the freight. We don’t really have any time for marketing talk or fluff. We just need to make sure that all the numbers add up at the end of every day. The people working here have been together for a long time, so we have become like a small family. We know all the local tea sellers and our neighbors well. Sometimes the traffic at Bombay Chowk makes it hard to get to work on time, but that’s just life here. It’s a rough and tumble job, but we just keep at it.
