At Rangamati Agriculture And Livestock Farmers Producer Company Limited, we are pretty tied to the land here in Jhargram. Our main spot is with Shyamal Pratihar over in Santal Shirship, near Harda. The soil around here is that red color, which is why we have the name Rangamati in our title. We do a mix of farming and looking after livestock. It is a lot of work, especially when the seasons change and the ground gets either too dry or too muddy to work easily. We don't have any fancy equipment; it’s mostly just us using our hands and the tools we’ve always used. Binpur is a quiet area, and we like that it stays that way for the most part. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy offices. We just want to grow our crops and keep our animals in good shape. Shyamal helps keep the records straight from the village, but he’s usually out there working with the rest of us. It’s a group effort, really. We share the work and the worries that come with it. If a cow gets sick or a crop doesn't come up right, we all feel it. That’s just how life is in a place like this. We are just local people trying to make a go of it in the 721504 area.
