Sahariya Clinic

Our clinic is right there at Baral Chungi on the main road in Chirgaon. If you’re in Jhansi and heading out this way, you can’t really miss it. The road is always busy with people coming in from the villages and the surrounding areas of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a simple building on the side of the street. We get a lot of sun hitting the front windows in the afternoon, which makes it pretty warm inside. We have a couple of ceiling fans that work hard to keep the air moving. The floor is plain concrete, easy to wash down at the end of the day. There’s always a bit of noise from the horns and the buses passing by outside, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We have a small waiting area with wooden benches. They aren't the most comfortable things in the world, but they hold a lot of people. Most of our day is spent talking to folks who come in from the nearby farms or the market. It’s a very straightforward place. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. Usually, it’s just one of us handling the desk and the other seeing to whatever else is needed. We keep the ledger books on a shelf behind the counter. It’s a lot of manual work keeping everything organized. It feels honest, just being here on the main road helping out whoever stops by.
