Our family has been running Ram Mohan Lal Hari Murari Lal for a long time. We are right in the Main Bazar of Shyam Ganj. You can find us directly in front of the Square Building. It’s one of those busy market areas where there is always something going on. We deal with various goods, mostly what people need for their homes or shops. The name of the business comes from our elders. The shop is filled with all kinds of items and it might look a bit disorganized to someone from outside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. There’s a lot of shouting and haggling in the bazaar, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still done in our books. It’s a traditional way of doing business. The Square Building is a good landmark for people who aren't from around here. We get a mix of regulars and people who are just passing through the bazar. It’s a bit hot in the summer because the shop is open to the street, but that’s just how it is here. We aren't interested in being a big company. We just want to keep the shop going and serve the people who come to Shyam Ganj for their shopping. It’s hard work but it’s what we know. We have been here for generations now.
