We are based at 8/21 Lalta Prashad Compound, which is in the Sadar Bazar area of Jhokan Bagh. Sadar Bazar is probably the most crowded place you can find, but it’s where all the action is. Our shop is tucked inside the compound, which gives us a little bit of a break from the main street noise, though not much. Lalta Prashad Compound has been around for a long time and everyone in Jhokan Bagh knows where it is. We handle a lot of traditional wear here. Even though the company name sounds big, the way we run this specific shop is very local. We have a small group of people working here who know the stock inside and out. We spend a lot of time helping people figure out what looks right for whatever event they have coming up. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding clothes, and making sure everything is pinned correctly. The energy in Sadar Bazar is always high, especially during the wedding season. We get people coming from all over because they know this is the place to look. It can get pretty frantic inside the shop when it’s busy, but we just take it one person at a time. We don't have a lot of fancy talk; we just show people what we have and let the clothes do the work. It’s a busy life here in the compound.
