Maa Tara Hardware

Maa Tara Hardware is located in Ward No. 11, right at the post in Khutauna. We are pretty easy to find since we are so close to the railway station here in the Madhubani district. You can hear the trains coming and going all day long, and sometimes the whole shop vibrates a little when the big ones pass by. It’s a small place, packed with all sorts of metal parts, tools, and things people need for their farms or houses. Being near the station means we get a lot of people stopping in while they are on their way somewhere else. We spend a lot of time just sorting through stock and making sure we haven't run out of the basics. The weather out here in Madhubani can get really hot, so the fan is always running, even if it just moves the warm air around. We don't do anything special, just sell what’s on the shelves and talk to the regulars who come in for a chat. Sometimes it gets crowded inside when three or four people are looking for different things at once. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, so I usually have to use a ladder ten times a day. It’s just how we earn a living here in Khutauna, keeping the hardware moving for the folks in Ward No. 11 and the surrounding villages.
