If you go down Dwarkadhish Road in Jhalawar, you will find Namdev Hardware. We are positioned very close to the bus stand. Because of the buses, there is a lot of noise and people moving around all day long. It is a very lively spot to have a hardware shop. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling while we are inside helping people with tools or supplies. The dust from the road comes in, and the floor usually needs a good sweep by midday. Jhalawar gets quite hot, so we have a couple of heavy-duty fans going to keep the air from getting too stale. Our shop has a lot of metal and heavy items, so it always has that specific hardware smell, like oil and iron. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. It can be a bit hard to find things sometimes if you aren't used to our system, but we know where everything is tucked away. Dwarkadhish Road is a main path for locals, so we see a lot of familiar faces every single day. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a straightforward shop where we do our business. Being near the bus stand means people often stop in while they are waiting for their ride. It makes the day go by fast when there is always someone coming in to ask for a specific bolt or a piece of equipment.
