You will find Singhal Trading Co. right in the heart of Dhan Mandi. If you know the market, you know how busy it gets, especially in the early mornings when all the trading starts up. We have been part of this mandi for a long time. It is a loud, crowded place with tractors and trucks moving in and out, but that is the life of a trader in this town. Our shop is just like the others around it—functional and a bit worn down around the edges. We do not have air conditioning or fancy chairs for guests. We usually just sit on wooden stools and talk to the farmers and buyers who come through the door. We deal in various goods depending on what is in season at the time. It is a lot of haggling and checking the quality of the bags. We do not write big reports or have formal meetings. We just talk, agree on a price, and move the stock out. It is a way of life that has not changed much over the years. We know most of the other families in Dhan Mandi. Sometimes business is slow when the rains do not come, and other times we are working late into the night. We do not have a website or any social media.
