Rakesh General Store

Bhorakalan is where we are based. The shop is in the Bohra Market area. It is a simple setup for a simple town. Rakesh General Store is just a room filled with things people need to use every day. I opened it because there was not much else around here at the time for the locals. The market gets very busy on certain days when people from the nearby villages come in to buy their supplies. Most of the time it is just the regular faces from the neighborhood. I spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the road outside can get quite dusty in the dry season. We carry everything from soap to big sacks of grain for the farmers. I do not have any staff working for me, just me and sometimes my nephew when he is not busy with his own school work. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains very hard, so I have to move some of the paper boxes around then. I keep a small radio on the counter for some background noise. It helps the long day go by a bit faster. I do not use any fancy systems or machines for the shop. I just remember what everyone owes and write it down in a small diary. People here trust each other like that. It is not a corporate business, just a local store for local people. I try to keep the prices fair for everyone who comes in.
