Kamal Provision Store

Kamal Provision Store is right by the Baran Main Bus Stand in Aazad Market, Mangrol. Being near the bus stand means it’s never quiet. There’s always the sound of horns and conductors shouting. We get a lot of travelers who just need a bottle of water or some biscuits for their journey. Then we have the local people from Mangrol who come for their monthly groceries. We stock bags of rice, sugar, and big tins of oil. The store is usually a bit messy because deliveries come in at odd hours and we have to put things away while serving customers. I’ve been running this place for years. My hands are usually dusty from weighing out grains or packing pulses into plastic bags. We have a bench outside where some of the older men sit and watch the buses go by. It’s a hot spot in the summer, but we have a cold fridge for drinks which keeps people coming in. We don't have fancy displays, just piles of goods and some old shelves. It’s a lot of work to keep track of everything, but it’s what we do. From the time the first bus leaves until the last one pulls in, we are here. It’s a busy life. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a torch to find the specific brand of tea a customer wants.
