Food Protection

Out here in Village Salotiya, things tend to move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. We are situated in the Patan Tehsil area of Jhalawar district, and Food Protection is where we spend most of our waking hours. The post office is over in Durgapura, so we head over there whenever we have mail or packages to deal with. Our daily work depends a lot on the seasons and what is happening in the fields surrounding us. Being in a rural spot means we see the weather changing and how it affects everything we are trying to do. The building we work in is a simple one, and there is nothing fancy about it at all. We have just enough space for what we need to get through the day. The air is usually pretty clear out here, except when the harvest is on and there is dust flying everywhere. We know most of the people around this area by their first names. It is the kind of place where you stop what you are doing just to say hello to someone passing by on a tractor. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, or the road gets a bit muddy after the heavy rains, but we always manage to keep things moving. We are not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It is just a small team of us making sure everything stays on track day after day.
