Bhagwati Engineering Works

Our place, Bhagwati Engineering Works, is located over in Rani, specifically on Kenpura Road across from the industrial area near Pratap Bazar. It is a good spot because we are close to the station. We have been running the shop for some years now. Mostly, we deal with mechanical parts and fixing up machinery for the local businesses around here. The shop is not very big, and it can get a bit crowded when we have several projects going on at once. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start. They know their way around the grinders and the drill press. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized, but we always know where every tool is kept. We do not do much advertising; people just walk in from the bazaar or hear about us from their neighbors. It is a lot of manual labor, and our hands are usually covered in grease by noon. We take breaks for tea when the sun is high. Working in Rani is quiet compared to the big cities, but there is enough work to keep us on our feet. We do not have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk in the corner with some old ledgers and a couple of plastic chairs for visitors. We prefer it that way. If someone has a broken pipe or a machine that will not start, we take a look and see what we can do to help them out.
