We are currently set up at Gandhi Chhak in Kantigaria for the Chandikhol Paradip Road Project. This is out in the Bhiwani district of Haryana. Working on a road project like this means the office is very much a hub for everything happening on the ground. It’s a dusty place because of all the trucks and movement nearby. The building is simple and practical, just like the work we do. We have maps of the road project taped to almost every wall. There’s a lot of coming and going with engineers and supervisors checking in. It’s not the kind of place you’d find a receptionist or fancy lounge chairs. We have plastic chairs and heavy wooden desks that can take a bit of a beating. Most of the time, the air is filled with the sound of the road work and the local traffic. We handle all the logistics and the site coordination from here. It’s a lot of pressure to keep things moving on a big road project, so we don't have time for corporate fluff. We eat our meals together at the site or grab something from the local dhabas. It’s a tough environment but we have a good rhythm. We focus on the daily progress and making sure the supplies like gravel and bitumen are arriving on time. It's real work for real people, and we just try to keep things moving every day.
