Maharaja International Foods

In Sawara, things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. Maharaja International Foods is tucked away here, and most of our staff lives just a short walk away. We don’t have a massive factory with shiny glass windows. It’s more of a warehouse style setup where we keep the bags of ingredients stacked high. When the rain comes, it gets real quiet in Sawara, and you can hear the water hitting the tin roof. We spend our days sorting through supplies and making sure the orders are packed up for the long drive out of here. Even though the name sounds big, we’re just a local group of people trying to make a go of it. Sometimes the neighbors bring over some tea or we share whatever we’ve cooked for lunch. It’s a simple life. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make food products and try to get them to the right people. The dust from the road sometimes blows in, so we’re always sweeping and keeping things as tidy as we can. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks and loading them onto the back of the pickup trucks. We know everyone by name here. It’s not like those corporate places where you’re just a number. Here in Sawara, we all look out for each other while we work and we share our meals together too.
