Nirtex Chemicals India Ltd. is located over at Plot No:772 in the GIDC Mega Estate. It’s one of those big plots where there’s always something going on. We work with various chemicals, so there are a lot of barrels, hoses, and mixing tanks all over the place. The concrete floor has seen better days, but it’s a working plant, not a museum. We start our shifts early to beat some of the heat, though it still gets plenty warm once the sun is up. Life in the Mega Estate is pretty predictable; you hear the same sounds of machinery and trucks every day. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. We just focus on the chemistry and making sure the batches come out okay. Sometimes we run into problems with a pump or a leak, and we have to drop everything to fix it. It’s just the nature of this kind of business. The people who work here are mostly from the surrounding towns and have been doing this for years. We’ve got a system that works, and we stick to it. It’s not about being the biggest or anything like that. We just want to do our jobs at Plot No:772 and go home to our families. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. The gate is usually open by seven, and the first thing we do is check the production logs from the night before.
