Himanshu Bricks

Himanshu Bricks is out here in the Village and Post Office Agra area. It is pretty close to the Old Petrol Pump on Prabhadevi Road, so people usually find us without too much trouble if they know the landmark. The yard stays busy most days. We spend a lot of time just moving stacks around and waiting for the kiln to cool down enough so we can actually touch the stuff. It gets hot, especially in the summer months when the sun is beating down on the red piles. There is always dust in the air here. It sticks to your clothes and gets into everything, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a small room where we keep the books and wait for the drivers to show up with their trucks. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the mud on the roads near the village, but we try to keep things moving as best as we can. My hands are usually stained from the clay by the end of the shift. We see a lot of local people coming by to ask about prices or just to see how much we have left in the yard. It's a lot of physical work, honestly. We just focus on the batches we have going and try to make sure nothing breaks when we are loading the trolleys.
