Shri Balaji Tiles

Shri Balaji Tiles is out on the Khurja Jewar Road in Jahangirpur. It’s located in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district, quite close to the Yamuna Express Way. Because of the expressway being so near, there is always a lot of dust and the sound of cars speeding in the distance. We have rows and rows of tiles leaning against the walls. They come in all sorts of patterns, and we spend a lot of time moving them so people can see the different styles. The floor of the shop is usually covered in a thin layer of grit from the road outside. We try to sweep it, but it just comes back. It’s a large open space, which helps keep it a bit cooler when the sun is beating down on Jahangirpur. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of big pedestal fans. The work involves a lot of heavy lifting, so we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We get folks stopping in who are driving along the Khurja Jewar Road and happen to see our sign. It’s a simple setup. We don't go in for fancy sales talk or anything. We just show people what we have in stock and let them decide. It’s a quiet life out here for the most part, except for the road noise. We just keep things running as best as we can and focus on the daily tasks.
