Verai Creations

Our workshop is in the Jetpur Textile Market over in Navagadh. This area is known for printing and textiles, so it makes sense for us to be here. We go by Verai Creations, though most locals just know us by our faces since we've been around so long. The building in Navagadh is old and the layout is a bit confusing if you haven't been here before. We spend our hours checking over the pieces we make and seeing if everything looks right. It’s a messy job sometimes. There’s always the smell of dye and fabric in the air, which stays on your clothes even after you go home. We have a small crew and everyone knows their job, so we don't have to talk much to get things done. The benches are worn down from years of use. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that move the hot air around. Customers come by to pick up their bundles and we spend a lot of time loading up rickshaws or small trucks out front. It’s hard work and your back usually aches by five o'clock. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the work we do every day at the market. It is a noisy place, but it has been our home for a long time and we know everyone on the street.
