Patil Traders

Down in Talsil Shirol, on Laxmi Road, is where you will find Patil Traders. We are located at A/P 11Th Lane. It is a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but it is a good location for a trading business. The lane is mostly residential with a few shops scattered around. We have a fairly large storage area because we handle a lot of goods coming in from the surrounding farms and towns. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when the sun is beating down outside. Most of our work involves weighing things and writing out labels. It is not very exciting, but it is necessary. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep the books. My father started this and now we just keep it going the same way he did. We don't use much technology here, just a calculator and some pens. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to chat for a bit. In a place like Shirol, everyone knows everyone's business anyway. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to transporters. The rainy season is the hardest because the lane gets muddy and it is difficult to move the heavy bags around without getting them wet. We just do our best to keep everything dry and moving on schedule. It is a simple, honest way to make a living and we are content with how things are going.
