We run Om Sai Studio over in Mohalla-Nasahi, right near the auto stand in Zafarabad. The auto stand is a very loud neighbor to have, with all the drivers shouting and the engines idling all day long. But it brings a lot of people past our door, which is good for us. Our studio is where we take photos for people. It might be for a government ID, a school form, or sometimes something more special like a wedding. We have some lights set up and a couple of different backgrounds that we pull down when needed. The space is small and can get a bit cramped when a whole family comes in. We spend a lot of time adjusting the lights and telling people to sit up straight or tilt their heads. Zafarabad is a busy place, and Mohalla-Nasahi has its own character. We’ve seen a lot of faces come through this studio over the years. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks to get people in. Most folks just see the sign or know us from living nearby. When we aren't taking pictures, we are usually sitting at the computer doing some basic editing or printing out the shots. It’s a steady job that keeps us connected to the neighborhood. Once the auto stand gets quiet in the evening, we know it’s about time to close up the studio and head home ourselves.
