Shree Polytechnic College

Our polytechnic college is located right across from the English Club in the Jafarabad area of Jaunpur. It’s a well-known landmark, so most people in town can point you in the right direction. We spend our time teaching technical skills to young people who want to work as engineers or mechanics. The workshops are definitely the heart of the college. There’s almost always the sound of hammers or engines running coming from those rooms. It can get pretty dusty, especially with all the hands-on work that goes on every day. The building isn't designed to look pretty; it was built to house labs and heavy equipment. We have a real mix of students, from teenagers just starting out to older folks looking to pick up a new trade. The instructors here have years of experience in their fields. They don't use a lot of complicated words; they just show you how to get the machine running or how to fix a wiring problem. Being in Jaunpur means there is always noise from the street traffic right outside our gates. We don't have big lawns or gardens, just the space around the workshops. The main office is usually cluttered with registers and technical manuals. We try to keep things moving, even when the paperwork gets a bit overwhelming. It’s a place for people who don't mind getting their hands dirty while they learn something useful for their future careers. We just keep the machinery running.
