Prahlad Sweet House

Prahlad Sweet House is right there in Village Kalyanpur. If you know where the Shiv Mandir is, we are just a short walk from there on the Kabulpur Bazar Road. It is a busy little stretch of road. We start the stoves early in the morning, way before the sun is up. You can smell the sugar and milk cooking from the street. It is what we do every day here in Jaunpur. The shop is not very big, mostly just the counters and the back area where the cooking happens. We make the usual stuff people around here like. It gets really crowded during festivals or when there is a wedding in the village. People stop by on their way to the temple. We have been at this spot for a while now. The floors are stone and they get a bit sticky by evening no matter how much we wash them. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know us by name or because they walk past. The benches out front are old but they hold up fine. We use milk from the nearby farms when we can get it. It is just us and a couple of helpers keeping the trays full. Sometimes we run out of things by the afternoon if the morning rush was big. That is just how it goes. Kalyanpur is a quiet place otherwise, but the bazaar road stays active. We are glad to be part of the neighborhood. The heat in the kitchen is tough but we are used to it.
