Lalji Vijay Kumar Food

Our place, Lalji Vijay Kumar Food, is over in Ward No. 29 on Station Road. We are right by the Old Sabzi Mandi in the Rizwikhan area, which means it is incredibly busy every single morning. Being near Jaunpur Station is both a blessing and a headache because of the constant noise of trains and the crowds of people walking past our door. You can hear the vegetable sellers shouting their prices from early dawn. We usually start our day before the sun is even up to beat the worst of the traffic. The building is an old one, typical for this part of town, and it has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit narrow and steep. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the supplies. We don’t have any fancy desks or air conditioning. We just use fans and keep the doors open when it gets too stuffy. My uncle started this many years ago, and we’ve just kept it going the same way. We handle various food products and make sure they get to the vendors in the market or onto the trains. There’s always a lot of dust from the road, so we spend a lot of time cleaning. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a large shipment in, but we make it work somehow. It’s a lively spot to be in, and there is never a dull moment.
