Agarwal Spices

We are Agarwal Spices and our place is on Albatia Road, right at the Ramanagar Crossing. This is in the Manas Nagar part of Shahganj, near Badla Ki Sarai. If you are walking around this area, you will probably smell the spices before you even see us. It’s a very busy crossing with lots of rickshaws and people always on the move. Our building is a bit tucked away, but it is always full of activity. We have bags of different things stacked up to the ceiling in some parts. Most of our day is spent weighing things out on the scales and putting them into bags. It’s a lot of manual work and our clothes usually end up smelling like the spices we handle. We have a small counter where we talk to people and write down what they need. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. Shahganj is a lively neighborhood and we have been here for a long time now. We see the same people passing by every day on their way to work or the market. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, so we use a couple of old fans to keep the air moving. We aren't a big corporation, just a local business doing our thing. We open up early and stay until the crossing gets quiet in the evening. It’s a simple life.
