Amma Paper Plate Industry

Down in the village of Morriguda, you will find Amma Paper Plate Industry. Our specific location is H. No. 1-24, and it is part of the Jannaram area. This is where we make all our plates every day. It’s more of a workshop than a big factory. We have some machines that run throughout the day, making a fair bit of noise that you can hear from the street. The air inside is often filled with the smell of paper and the heat from the presses. It’s a small operation, mostly just family and a few neighbors who come in to help with the packing and sorting. We don’t have a big sales team or anything like that. We just make the plates and people come to pick them up or we send them out to the local shops nearby. It’s a lot of manual work, stacking the plates and making sure the counts are correct before they go out. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them with whatever tools we have on hand. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do here in Morriguda. H. No. 1-24 is our home as well as our workplace. We started Amma Paper Plate Industry because it seemed like a sensible thing to do in Jannaram. We work hard every day, from early morning until the sun goes down. It’s a busy life, but we like it.
