Laxmaneswar Stone Tiles

Out here in Sukul Para Kharod, things move a little slower than in the big cities. We are located in the Pamgarh tahsil area, which is mostly just local folks going about their daily business. Our day at the stone tile yard starts early because the heat gets bad in the afternoon and the stone gets too hot to touch. We have stacks of stone and tiles piled up everywhere in the yard. Most of it is for flooring or walls for houses being built nearby. It is a lot of lifting and shifting. Sometimes the truck driver is late and we just sit around the Sukul Para area talking about the weather or how the crops are doing this year. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the tiles laid out so people can see the colors and the grain in the natural light. The stone is heavy and sometimes it chips if you are not careful, so we have to be slow with the pallets. My hands are always rough from handling the edges all day. It is just a small operation really. We know most of the people who come by since it is a small community around here. You won't find any shiny posters here, just some stone and a few guys working in the yard. We try to keep the place tidy but when you are dealing with rocks and dirt, it’s a losing battle. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
