Maa Kali Rice Trading

Maa Kali Rice Trading is situated in Vill- Basantapur which is in the Jamalpur area. As you can tell by the name we deal with rice. This part of the country grows a lot of grain and we are right in the middle of it all. We buy the rice from the local farmers and then get it ready to be sent to the markets. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and moving big bags around in the sun. Our place in Jamalpur is not a high-tech factory. It is a traditional setup where we check the quality of the grain by looking at it and feeling it with our hands. You can usually smell the fresh rice from quite a distance down the road. We have been doing this for a long time so we know which crops are the good ones and which ones have problems. My brother and I run the daily work here. We spend the whole day talking to truck drivers and farmers who come by. Sometimes we drink a lot of tea while we wait for the bags to be weighed correctly. It can be a very loud place when the machines are going but that is a good sound to hear. It means the work is getting done and the rice is moving. We are not trying to be the biggest traders out there. We just want to do our job. (239 words)
