Chandan Singh Foundation

Chandan Singh Foundation is out in Vil-Tola Chahbachcha. If you are looking for us, we are in the Panch-Pojha area of the Chakai block. It’s a bit of a trek into the Jamui district, but this is where we belong. We are set up at Dewni Devi’s place, and she’s been kind enough to let us use the space for our foundation’s work. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower than in the big cities, but there is always something that needs to be done. We don't have a website or fancy brochures, we just talk to the people who live nearby. Most days are spent dealing with local matters or helping out families in the Tola. It’s a very small team, just a couple of us who care about Jamui. The office is really just a room with some chairs and a table where we keep our registers. Sometimes the roads get muddy and it’s hard for folks to reach us, but we are usually there every day. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just focusing on our own little corner here in Bihar. People know us by name and they know where Dewni Devi lives, so they just walk in when they have a question. It is a very direct way of working and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We have become a regular part of the landscape in this village.
