Baba Hardware

If you find yourself in Vidyasagar, you’ll probably pass by Baba Hardware sooner or later. It’s a small place, packed to the ceiling with just about everything you’d expect to find in a local shop. We’ve got rows of bins filled with nails and screws, and the smell of metal and oil is always in the air. It’s not the most organized spot in the world, but we know where everything is if you ask. Most days are spent helping neighbors find the right tool for a leak or a bit of wood for a fence. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the inventory inside out. The counter is usually cluttered with catalogs and odd bits of hardware people brought in to match. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few people come in at once, and we all have to squeeze past each other in the narrow aisles. Vidyasagar isn't a huge place, so we see the same faces quite often. It feels more like a community spot than a big retail store. We don’t do much advertising because people just know we’re here when they need a wrench or a bucket of paint. It’s a simple life, opening up early and closing when the sun goes down. There’s always something to sweep or a shelf to restock. We just keep at it, one customer at a time, making sure they get what they came for without any fuss.
