Climate Policy Foundation

We are over in Mihijam, which is part of Jamtara. Our office is set up at Sahanand Singh's place in Ramnagar, right in Ward No. 14. The Climate Policy Foundation is basically a group of us looking at how the weather and environment are changing our daily lives. We don't have any big corporate backers or anything like that. It is just a local effort. Mihijam is a quiet place for the most part, but we stay busy. We spend our mornings going over reports and our afternoons talking to people in the ward. It gets quite hot here, so we talk about the climate a lot, but in a very practical way. We are interested in how policies affect the regular person living in a place like Jamtara. We aren't trying to change the whole world overnight, just trying to understand things better from our little corner. The office is just a room in the house with some files and a couple of old fans. It is a humble setup but it works for us. We have been here for a while and the neighbors know who we are. We don't use big words or try to sound like experts. We are just folks who live here and care about what is happening with the land and the air. It is honest work and we do it every day without making a big fuss about it.
