Timken India Limited has its place out in Bara, near the Agrico post office in Jamshedpur. Being in a city like Jamshedpur, you get used to the industrial atmosphere pretty quickly. Our spot in Bara is right in the thick of things. It’s a regular industrial setup where we deal with what we know best. The weather can be tough, either very dusty or very wet, but the work doesn't stop. We have a lot of people coming and going because of the Agrico connection. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose for what we need. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of equipment and parts waiting to be shipped out or worked on. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor. It’s more about making sure the inventory is right and the machines are doing what they are supposed to do. Working in Jamshedpur feels different than other places because everyone here understands industry. You hear the whistles from the plants and the sounds of the heavy rail lines nearby. We just contribute our bit from our corner in Bara. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it for a while now. Most of us have been here long enough to know the postman by name. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks without much fuss.
