The Tinplate Co. Of India Limited, A Tata Enterprise

Being in Jamshedpur means you are part of an industrial town through and through. Our office for The Tinplate Co. Of India Limited, which is a Tata Enterprise, is located in Golmuri. We are at 20, Np Flats on Narmada Road, right near the Tinplate Post Office. This area has a lot of history and you can feel it in the old buildings and the way the roads are laid out. Our day usually starts with checking the production reports and seeing what needs to be done for the plant. The office itself is quite basic and built for work, not for showing off. We have a lot of people who have been working here for decades, and they know the tin business better than anyone. You can hear the sounds of the industry in the distance, which is just a normal part of life in Jamshedpur. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the local news or the events happening in the colony. The summers here are very harsh, so we have the coolers running full blast to keep the office comfortable. We don't use any complicated business talk; we just focus on getting the tinplate manufactured and shipped out to where it is needed. It is hard work, but there is a sense of pride in being part of such an old and established enterprise in this city where everyone knows everyone.
