You’ll find us at 304 in the Q-Block of Green Enclave. It’s in the Kadma area of Jamshedpur, zip code 831005. This is a residential complex, so our office for Tata Steel Ltd feels a bit like a home. It’s on the third floor, and the lift works most of the time, though we often just take the stairs to save time. The rooms are a bit small, and we’ve had to be creative with how we fit all the desks and cabinets. It gets quite lively in the enclave with kids playing outside and neighbors chatting in the hallways. Our windows look out over the other blocks. It’s not a sterile corporate environment. We have our own small kitchen area where we make tea. The light in the afternoons is quite nice, but it can get hot, so we keep the curtains drawn. We handle various administrative tasks here, mostly stuff that requires a lot of focus and quiet. The atmosphere is generally calm, apart from the usual sounds of an apartment building. We don’t have a big sign on the door, just a small plate. It’s a good place to work if you like being in a neighborhood rather than an industrial park. We just show up, do our hours, and head out. There’s no mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes. It’s just a regular, working-class setup in a busy Jamshedpur suburb.
