Tata Steel By Seva Sadan

Out here in Golmuri, our spot at Seva Sadan is a bit of a local fixture. We work as part of the Tata Steel umbrella, but being tied in with Seva Sadan gives the place a slightly different feel than a standard industrial site. Jamshedpur is built on this kind of work, and we’re right in the middle of it. The building itself has some history, and you can feel it when you walk through the doors. We don't have a massive team, just a group of people who’ve been around the industry for years. Most of our day is spent coordinating activities and making sure whatever needs doing gets done without too much fuss. It's not a place for suits and ties. We’re usually in practical clothes, ready to handle whatever comes up. The local tea stall nearby is where we usually end up talking through the day's problems. It’s an honest way to make a living. We don’t put on airs or try to act like we’re something we’re not. The work is steady, and the people who come by usually know exactly what they’re looking for. Golmuri is a busy area, but once you’re inside our gate, it’s all about the tasks at hand. We’ve been here long enough that the routines are second nature to everyone involved. It's just how we do things in this part of town, without any extra polish or fluff.
